Eduexplora Residential Programs 2026

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Program Overview:

Eduexplora offers academic pre-college programs for international students ages 13–18 at Yale University, UC Berkeley, and UCLA. Programs vary by academic track, location, dates, and session availability. Tuition, session dates, and program details are subject to change based on university and partner requirements.

In partnership with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Oxford Summer Courses (OSC), students may also apply to programs in Canada and the United Kingdom. This year, academic programs at UBC (ages 15–18) and Oxford Summer Courses (ages 13–17) are available to students.

The first and last day of each program correspond to check-in and check-out days. Specific arrival and departure times will be communicated prior to program start.

Students may apply in 2026 for programs taking place in 2026 and 2027. Students accepted for 2027 may secure their place by submitting the initial deposit by the stated deadline.

Eligibility:

Students must meet the age requirements for each program by the program’s start date. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic performance and meet the academic criteria established by Eduexplora. Students are expected to follow all program guidelines and behave appropriately in a university residential environment.

Application Process:

Applications for all programs are submitted through a single online form. Applicants complete only the sections relevant to the programs they wish to apply for.

An essay is required. Students may preview the prompt in advance and prepare their essay prior to applying.
Prompts may be checked here.

Some programs offer multiple sessions. Session preference will be considered but cannot be guaranteed. Session dates for 2027 remain subject to final confirmation.

Program Fees:

Tuition includes academic instruction, materials, housing, meals, extracurricular activities, field trips, and 24/7 residential supervision. Tuition does not include flights, visas, health insurance, airport meals, pocket money, or personal expenses.

Tuition amounts are subject to change.

What Is Included:

Academic Instruction: Students learn cutting-edge topics taught by expert instructors from top-tier universities. Required materials and supplies are provided.

Housing: Students reside in university dormitories. Room assignments are determined exclusively by the host university. Students may be placed in single, double, triple, or quadruple rooms based on availability. Room-type preferences cannot be guaranteed.

Meals:Three meals per day are provided on campus and during field trips.

Eduexplora will make reasonable efforts to support dietary restrictions, but specialized diets (e.g., halal, kosher, medically restricted diets, gluten-free) cannot be guaranteed.

Extracurricular Activities: Structured social, cultural, and recreational activities are included.

Field Trips: Field trips may occur during weekdays or weekends. Transportation, entrance fees, and meals are included. Destinations may change without prior notice due to weather, safety considerations, or university guidelines.

Residential Staff:Students are supervised 24/7 by Residential Staff selected from the host university and other top institutions. Staff guide daily activities, enforce safety protocols, and accompany students on all program events.

What Is Not Included:

International and domestic flights:Parents are fully responsible for arranging travel to and from the program, including required unaccompanied minor (UM) services. Eduexplora cannot pick up or drop off students traveling with UM services.

Visa and Travel Documentation:Students must hold a valid passport and U.S. tourist visa (B1/B2) or ESTA, as applicable. Eduexplora will provide an invitation letter upon request. Obtaining a visa is solely the family’s responsibility. Failure to secure a visa does not exempt families from payment obligations.

Health Insurance:Students must present an international health insurance policy with minimum coverage of USD 50,000 for medical care in the United States, including doctor visits, emergency care, diagnostic tests, medications, and medical transportation.

Families are responsible for verifying deductibles, copays, or out-of-pocket costs. Eduexplora does not assume medical expenses.

Exception: OSC does include health insurance.

Pocket Money and Airport Meals:Optional personal spending. Not provided by Eduexplora

Health Requirements and Medical Clearance:

Parents must provide complete and truthful medical information, including emotional, psychological, behavioral, or counseling history, and any medication taken in the past 24 months. This information is essential to evaluate whether the student can participate safely in the program.

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in immediate dismissal without refund.

If a student becomes ill or injured, they will be escorted to a medical facility by staff. Parents are responsible for all medical costs, including transportation, medications, and emergency services.

If a student develops a serious illness, cannot remain on campus, or tests positive for COVID-19 or any other communicable condition requiring isolation, parents must arrange pickup within 48 hours. If parents cannot travel, they must designate an authorized adult within the United States.

Students unable to meet federal, state, university, or public health requirements (e.g., valid visa, required test results, health documentation) will not be allowed to participate. No refunds will be issued in these cases.

Public Health Policies (COVID-19 and Others):

Programs will follow all CDC, state, local, and university public health requirements in place at the time of the program. Policies may change without prior notice.

If isolation or quarantine is required:

  • Families are responsible for off-campus lodging, meals, transportation, adult supervision and related expenses if students are not allowed to isolate in campus.
  • Students may participate in hybrid remote learning when possible.
  • Early departure may be required; no refunds will be provided for missed program days.

Eduexplora strongly recommends that families purchase travel insurance, trip cancellation insurance, and or “Cancel For Any Reason” coverage in their home country.

Student Conduct and Dismissal Policy:

Students must comply with all Eduexplora rules, university regulations, and U.S. law. Expectations include:

  • Respectful behavior toward peers and staff
  • Adherence to curfews and campus boundaries
  • No alcohol, drugs, vaping, or prohibited items
  • No harassment, bullying, theft, or unsafe conduct
  • Compliance with safety instructions at all times

Any conduct deemed unsafe, disruptive, harmful, or inappropriate may result in immediate dismissal without refund. Parents must arrange pickup within 48 hours.

Students dismissed for behavioral, safety, health, or disciplinary reasons are not eligible for refunds. The Full Student Guide, Code of Conduct, and all required legal forms will be issued to families upon student acceptance and payment.

Damages and Financial Responsibility:

Parents are financially responsible for any damage caused by the student to university property, dormitories, transportation, or program equipment.

Communication and Emergency Authority:

If Eduexplora cannot reach parents in a reasonable timeframe during an emergency, the program reserves the right to make necessary decisions regarding medical care, safety, relocation, housing modifications, or emergency procedures in the student’s best interest.

Travel Policies:

Eduexplora will provide an official window of time for student arrival and departure. Students must arrive and depart within the specified timeframe. Eduexplora is not responsible for supervising, accommodating, or providing services to students who arrive earlier or later than the designated arrival window, nor for those who depart before or after the designated departure window. Any arrangements outside the specified times are the sole responsibility of the parents.

Early arrival or late departure arrangements must be made by parents.

Eduexplora is not responsible for missed flights, airline delays, cancellations, rebooking fees, unaccompanied minor logistics, or any additional costs incurred due to travel disruptions.

If a student arrives late due to flight delays or cancellations, Eduexplora will make reasonable efforts to help the student catch up on missed classes or activities; however, Eduexplora cannot guarantee that missed content, assignments, or experiences can be fully replicated or recovered. No refunds or credits will be issued for missed program time.

Photography, Video, and Program Materials:

Unless parents opt out in writing, Eduexplora may use photos, videos, and student work for educational, informational, and promotional purposes. Opt-out requests must be submitted before the program start date.

Program Changes:

Program dates, academic content, field trips, housing arrangements, instructor assignments, and delivery format may change due to university requirements, health and safety considerations, or circumstances beyond Eduexplora’s control. Equivalent alternatives will be provided when possible.

Universities may host other summer programs simultaneously. Eduexplora programs operate independently and are not sponsored or endorsed by Yale University, UC Berkeley, or UCLA.
