Innovation and Entrepreneurship

This course provides students with an engaging introduction to innovation and entrepreneurship including customer insight, marketing, product development, and business models. By emphasizing using design thinking, students learn to solve real customer problems and build a healthy business. The class covers a wide range of fundamental business terms and concepts and explore Silicon Valley companies. Students will bring the subject to life through various learning materials, fun exercises, and a final project. Finally, this course explores possible careers and specific leadership skills to help students learn how a future career in business fits their interests and capabilities.

Suzanne Liu Taylor

Suzanne Liu Taylor is a certified professional executive coach who helps high-potential clients become more effective and feel more fulfilled, both personally and professionally. She helps clients identify key areas to build skills for more impact, meaning, and joy. She has a broad business background, including working at Intuit, Clorox, and with a variety of high-tech companies. She also co-authored a book titled Inside Intuit: How the Makers of Quicken Beat Microsoft and Revolutionized an Entire Industry, published by Harvard Business School Press. Her new book is called, Leadership Journey Workbook: Self-Reflections and Actions for Growth. She has taught more than 600 students through numerous courses at Stanford Continuing Studies and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies. She holds Stanford BA and MBA degrees.
