Vaccination Requirements

Currently, for the 2025 program, if a student tests positive for COVID-19, isolation is mandated. To mitigate this risk, a negative COVID test is required prior to start of the program. There are no COVID-19 vaccine requirements in place, but they are strongly recommended due to the evolving nature of the virus. We hope that by June 2025 covid policies are relaxed and that isolation and testing will not be mandatory if a student tests positive for Covid.

If a student presents any serious illness  at any point of the program or can´t stay on campus for any reason, they will be required to be picked up by their families within 48 hours.

Eduexplora and its university partners reserve the right to adjust COVID and other health and safety policies as circumstances warrant. Eduexplora will comply at all times with vaccination, isolation and other requirements mandated by the university, state, and US government.

In regards to students medical information, parents will be required to provide all relevant information regarding the student´s emotional and physical well-being and to disclose any medical, psychological, or emotional conditions, including medications, for the duration of the program. The disclosure is essential for Eduexplora to make necessary accommodations and ensure the student´s successful experience. Failure to provide important medical details, including counseling history or behavior modification medication use in the past 24 months, may result in dismissal from the program. If terminated, the student will be sent home, and the parent or guardian will be notified accordingly.

If a student gets sick or injured, they will be escorted by a chaperone or staff to the nearest medical facility or to the one assigned by their insurance and parents will be notified. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for any costs incurred, including transportation to the medical facility.

Students that do not meet federal, state, university, or any legal requirements such as  valid visa, valid passport, negative covid test, etc. will not be able to participate in the programs and refunds will not be issued.

COVID-19 Safety Guidelines

Eduexplora’s Summer Programs will follow COVID-19 safety guidelines as set by the CDC, state, local and university authorities. (Please review vaccination requirements and covid testing stated above).  It is important to note that any additional expenses incurred, because of a positive COVID-19 test or any other illness, will be the responsibility of the participant, this includes, additional lodging expenses for quarantine, meals, airport transportation, airline cancel/change or unaccompanied minor fees, covid testing costs and any other fees associated with the proper care of the individual student. Students may be required to leave campus early due to testing positive or any other illness. In this case, parents will be responsible for arranging an early check out and picking up the student from campus in 48 hours.

Additionally, every effort will be made by instructors and staff, for students to participate in a hybrid program and receive all materials if temporary quarantine is needed until the student is able to return to class.  Please take into consideration that the current policy is based on the most recent information provided by the host institution and is subject to change.  Eduexplora strongly recommends purchasing additional travel, trip cancellation and or “Cancel For Any Reason” insurance coverage, in the country of origin, as the best way to protect your experience against unforeseen circumstances.

All costs for health care, including hospitalization, transportation, doctor visit, prescription and over the counter drugs, and any other costs, because of covid or any other medical reason must be covered by the travel insurance and health plan, which must consider $0 out of pocket.

All students must comply with vaccination requirements by the University, state, and the United States government. Currently No COVID-19 vaccine requirements are in place for residential programs taking place at Yale University and UC Berkeley.

An acceptable option for the test is an antigen “at-home” rapid test. This requirement applies either before boarding the group flight or prior to arriving at the campus.

If a student presents any serious illness or tests positive for covid at any point of the program or can´t stay on campus for any reason, they will be required to be picked up by their families within 48 hours.

If they test positive, they will also be required to isolate following university policies, while they wait for their parents to pick them up. During this time students will have staff supervision and meals.
