Application 2022: Essay Questions

The application process for programs taking place in the US, requires an essay. You must upload your essay on the online form.
The essay must be written in English, and it must be between 300 – 500 words. Please upload in word, pdf or jpg format.
Each program application requires an essay about a different topic.

The essay topics or questions are the following:

International Institutes Program at UC Berkeley

Discuss a time when you had to make a difficult decision. In retrospect, was it the right or wrong choice? Why?

Advanced Pre-College Program at UC Berkeley

Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?

Advanced Pre-College Program at Yale

Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
